Basic Structure of Centrifugal Pump
- The impeller is the core part of the centrifugal pump. Its speed is high and its output is large. The blades on the impeller play a major role. The impeller must pass the static balance test before assembly. The inner and outer surfaces of the impeller shall be smooth to reduce the friction loss of water flow.
- The pump body, also known as the pump housing, is the main body of the water pump. It plays a supporting and fixing role and is connected with the bracket for installing the bearing.
- The function of the pump shaft is to connect the motor with the coupling to transmit the torque of the motor to the impeller, so it is the main part to transmit mechanical energy.
- The bearing is a component that is sleeved on the pump shaft to support the pump shaft, and there are two kinds of rolling bearings and sliding bearings. When using butter as lubricant for rolling bearings, it should be appropriate. Generally, it is 2/3~3/4. Too much volume will heat up, and too little will make noise and heat up! The sliding bearing uses transparent oil as the lubricant, and oil is added to the oil level line. Too much oil must seep out along the pump shaft and float, and too few bearings must be overheated and burned to cause accidents!
During the operation of the water pump, the maximum temperature of the bearing is 85 ℃, and generally it is about 60 ℃. If it is high, find out the cause (whether there are impurities, whether the oil is black, whether there is water) and deal with it in time!
- The sealing ring is also called the leakage reducing ring. Excessive clearance between the impeller inlet and the pump casing will cause the water in the high-pressure area of the pump to flow to the low-pressure area through this clearance, affecting the pump output and reducing the efficiency! Too small a clearance will cause friction and wear between impeller and pump casing.
To increase the return resistance and reduce internal leakage, and delay the service life of the impeller and pump casing, a sealing ring is installed at the junction of the inner edge of the pump casing and the outer support of the impeller, and the sealing clearance should be kept between 0.25 and 1.10 mm.
- The stuffing box is mainly composed of packing, water seal ring, packing barrel, packing gland and water seal pipe. The stuffing box is mainly used to close the gap between the pump casing and the pump shaft, to prevent the water in the pump from flowing outside and prevent the outside air from entering the pump. Always maintain a vacuum in the water pump!
When the heat is generated by the friction between the pump shaft and the packing, it is necessary to rely on the water seal pipe to hold the water in the water seal ring to cool the packing! Keep the water pump running normally. Therefore, special attention should be paid to the inspection of stuffing box during the patrol inspection of water pump operation! The packing shall be replaced after 600 hours of operation.
As the saying goes, the water pump is maintained in seven parts and repaired in three parts. Only regular maintenance of various parts of the water pump can prolong the service life of the water pump. Three-level maintenance of centrifugal pump:
First-level maintenance of the centrifugal pump
When the centrifugal pump operates for (1000 ± 24) hours in total, the personnel on duty shall carry out the first level of maintenance. The main contents are as follows: 1. Check the integrity of the coupling (coupling and coupling), tighten the bolts, and do a good job in sanitation. 2. Replace or supplement the sealing packing, so that the gland is pressed in parallel, the distance between the gland and the end face of the sealing packing box is not more than 5mm, and the leakage per minute is not more than 30 drops. 3. Check and clean the bearings, and add or replace lubricating oil. 4. Check and clean the inlet filter screen, and calibrate the inlet and outlet pressure gauges. 5. Check the motor bearings and add lubricating oil. 6. Check and tighten the fixing bolts of each part of the unit, and deal with the leakage of each part of the pipeline.
Second-level maintenance of the centrifugal pump
When the centrifugal pump operates for (3000 ± 24) hours in total, the maintenance shift or mechanical foreman shall be the main, and the personnel on duty shall cooperate to carry out secondary maintenance. 1. Complete the first level maintenance work. 2. Measure and check the bearing clearance, and adjust and replace it if necessary to ensure that the clearance meets the regulations. 3. Check the working mass of the pump (balance disc clearance). 4. Check the concentricity of the coupling.
Third-level maintenance of the centrifugal pump
When the centrifugal pump operates for (10000 ± 72) hours in total, the professional pump maintenance team shall carry out three-level maintenance on site. 1. Disassemble and connect all pipelines and pump outlet flanges, and check and clean them to ensure they are unobstructed and undamaged. 2. Remove the pump: loosen the bolts of the rear pad cover, take out the upper and lower pads, and remove the rear pad bracket and tail cover.
If the water pump fails, it should stop working immediately, and repair or replace accessories. As the saying goes, it is necessary to nip in the bud. Do a comprehensive inspection before using the water pump every day, ranging from a screw to a bearing. This can not only greatly reduce the incidence of accidents, but also ensure personal safety.
